In this interlocutory appeal under C.A.R. 4.1, the People contest a ruling of the El Paso County District Court suppressing inculpatory statements made by the defendant, Cheryel Kay Rhodes, and evidence derived from the statements. The district court, considering testimony about the defendants mental condition at the time she made the statements in light of this courts decision in People v. Connelly, 702 P.2d 722 (Colo. 1985), concluded that the prosecution had failed to meet its burden of showing that the statements were voluntary. The United States Supreme Court reversed our decision in People v. Connelly. Colorado v. Connelly, 479 U.S. 157, 55 U.S.L.W. 4043, 93 L. Ed. 2d 473, 107 S. Ct. 515 (1986). Therefore, we reverse the ruling of the district court.
