Defendant, Gary G. Requejo, was charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, and crime of violence, and he appeals from the judgment of conviction entered against him on a jury verdict finding him guilty of attempted reckless manslaughter and second degree assault. He raises two discrete issues: the propriety of the trial courts rulings excluding certain evidence and the denial of his motion to suppress. We disagree with defendants second argument, but agree that the trial courts evidentiary ruling was reversible error. Accordingly, we reverse and remand for a new trial on the two charges of which he was convicted.
